Accessibility Statement

Standards compliance

The pages on this website were built in 2011 to comply with a minimum standard of WCAG AA, complying with all priority 1 and 2 guidelines of the W3C Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Therefore, all pages on this site validate as XHTML 1.0 Transitional.

All pages on this site use structured semantic markup. H1 tags are used for main titles, H2, H3 etc. tags for subtitles.

All pages contain a link to the home page, and the navigation bar at the top has been constructed in a consistent fashion throughout the website. The property search facility employs a simple three step process where the user is able to “filter” the properties. Step 1 utilises the search form and map. Step 2 produces a list of properties according to the search criteria the user has specified. Step 2 also allows the search criteria to be refined using the refine tool on the right hand side of the page. Finally, step 3 is the detailed information relating to each property. When viewing a single property, a user can easily find their way back to the results page or to the search page with the refine tool.

Many links have title attributes, which describe the link in greater detail. Links are written to make sense out of context.

All content images used in this site include descriptive ALT attributes. Purely decorative graphics include null ALT attributes.

Visual design

This site uses cascading style sheets for visual layout.

This site uses only relative font sizes, compatible with the user-specified “text size” option in visual browsers.
